How the estimate works
The calculator multiplies your balance by one month of the estimated return, then adds your monthly contribution. It repeats those steps for each month in your plan. Your “You put in” amount includes the starting amount and every monthly contribution.
For example, ₱10,000 up front and ₱2,000 at the end of each month means you contribute ₱490,000 over 20 years. The result above shows how that total changes if you assume a constant 6% annual return, compounded monthly.
You can enter a negative return to see a loss scenario. This estimate assumes the same return each month. Real markets move up and down, so the result is an illustration, not a forecast or a promise.
Questions about the calculator
How do I calculate compound interest with monthly contributions?
Enter your starting amount, the pesos you plan to add each month, how many years you will invest, and an estimated annual return. The calculator applies one-twelfth of that return each month, then adds your monthly contribution. It repeats that process for the number of years you choose.
Does this calculator work for investments in the Philippines?
Yes. Enter Philippine peso amounts to see a peso-denominated illustration. The calculator does not predict returns from any specific Philippine fund, stock, or savings product. It does not include fees, taxes, inflation, or exchange-rate changes.
Can I use this estimate for US stocks through Gotrade?
You can use it to test a scenario, but US stocks trade in US dollars. Your actual peso result will depend on investment performance, the PHP–USD exchange rate, fees, and taxes. Stock returns change over time and can be negative.
